Torry is one of the oldest settlements in the North East of Scotland with a recorded history of over one thousand years with a long maritime history of fishing and shipbuilding. Today, we are home to a global mix of some 10,000 people and has its place as a distinctive suburb in the South of the City of Aberdeen.
The area is rich with a historic mix of built and natural environments that spread along the Dee and round to the North Sea. Social/economic factors impact on present day Torry with levels of multi-deprivation that are amongst the highest in Scotland.
